The heads of Tatarstan small and medium-sized enterprises and the head of federal project “Vertical Career Flights” (VCF) Sergey Gulyaev conducted a discussion in Technopark “Idea” on the degree of young experts competence, the most frequently problems emerging in the labor market in the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia, as well as the possibility of staff requalification. The discussion was held in the course of the presentation of the project “Vertical Career Flights” launched in the Republic.
“Vertical Career Flights” is one of the key projects supported by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives under the initiative “New Technologies for Competence”. It is designed to create the electronic base of professionals who receive competence-based education solving practical problems for the medium business.
The project was approved in October 2011. Kazan (Volga region) Federal University was selected as Tatarstan operator according to the results of the Agreement signed in October 2012. Technopark “Idea” served as a partner of the project.
According to the organizers, the project made a good start for solving the staff shortage problem, which is particularly acute for medium-sized businesses in the regions.
During the meeting Sergey Gulyaev informed of the current labor-market situation. Thus, according to him, today only 5% of the applicants know the purpose of their admission to the university. 85% of Russian students on their third course realize that they will not work in the profession. "If earlier the student studied and had a side job, but now he works and studies up", - said Sergey Gulyaev.
As the speaker noted, as a rule, the graduates aged 22 to 35 do not see the opportunity for professional development in the next 5 years.
The guest also spoke about the students skills. In particular, according to him, the level of graduate experts competence is not more than 10% from those stated in the questionnaire.
Entrepreneurs evinced a particular interest in the possibility of staff requalification. Sergey Gulyaev explained that there is the opportunity to create and support individual professional path of the employee as well as the possibility of in-depth professional requalification under this programme.
As the project leader stated, only teachers who have been trained in Service Company “Vertical Career Flights” will be engaged in the staff requalification.
