ROSTO DOSAAF (Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Air Force and Navy) has already estimated their driving simulators and soon they will appear in this organization driving schools in Tatarstan.
The “Eidos” specialization is development and production of training simulators. The Company performs a complete cycle of works – from concept, software, engineering systems and microelectronics to creation of finished product – a training simulator. Cooperation with Technopark started from the signing of Agreement on the development of new quality level training simulators for an optimized price for training of military drivers. In addition to providing an order, Technopark “Idea” provided the Company with manufacturing facilities.
For ROSTO DOSAAF, “Eidos” developed two modifications of KAMAZ driving simulators – dynamic platform in the form of KAMAZ cabin equipped with all control and check devices and a more economical option – the driver’s seat with VR-headset or 3D-projector. Driving simulators are intended not only for initial training but also for maintaining the driver’s skills. DOSAAF places a great store on the training for driving on the cross country. Therefore, the training simulator’s dynamic platform conveys a sensation of motion over cross-country terrain, mountain road, head-on crash, rise in a road and slope. It imitates acceleration, experienced by the driver during speeding-up, braking and rotary movement; road roughness and engine vibration. It is also possible to test the driving effect in the conditions of clear ice or swampy areas at any time of day and under any weather conditions – rain, snow or fog. Perhaps, driving the simulator is more difficult than driving a real car. The simulator is provided with KAMAZ’s railway platform training according to the “Automobile and Tracked Carrier Training Course”. Then, no one could do it on the first try.
KAMAZ dynamic driving simulator is the first driving simulator in Russia, executed on the pneumatic dynamic platform. Other manufacturer use electrical engineering. The dynamic platform consists of six pneumatic cylinders and each of them “pulls” per 700 kg. This capacity margin allows you to provide any dynamic effects. The cabin has 6 degrees of freedom – 3 independent rotations and 3 movements. Driving simulators, produced in Russia, are threefold. Compared with competitors, the “Eidos” product has the advantage that the cabin can deviate up to 35 degrees, and the existing counterparts – up to 20 degrees.
KAMAZ dynamic driving simulator and KAMAZ driving simulator with 3D-projector have been tested for 3 months in ROSTO DOSAAF. Resulting from this, the KAMAZ dynamic driving simulator meets the KAMAZ’s specifications by 95%. Now these developments stand to make the certificate of quality. It is planned that the order volume for DOSAAF will make 20 dynamic training simulators and about 80 economy class with 3D-projector, or virtual cabin. The Company has the capability to produce up to 5 dynamic training simulators per month. The Republican order gives it break-even.
Private driving schools of the Krasnodar Territory have already become the first consumers of driving simulators for automobile driving training. And LLC “Eidos” proceeds with development of new training simulators. In prospect – development of avia simulators, fire-fighting service simulators. It is scheduled to produce small size vessel’s driving simulators in Sochi – several types of Russian boats. In the future, the Company intends to master the production of ship simulators. “Tranzas” Group of Companies is its main competitor in this field. «But we are entering this market and trying to offer the best product at a lower price. Our point is the development of high feasible simulators due to dynamic effects and high detailing software. We are planning to develop the ship simulators jointly with Kazan State Technical University named by Tupolev A.N. and we are confident that we will be able to meet the competition, - stated Lenar Valejev. – When we started our work, we developed a line of driving simulators for Production Association “Zarnitsa”. The customer chose from large companies. Large companies determined the term of development and production as 1-3 years. We suggested performing it for 4 months. And we managed to do it».
