Schoolchildren of the Lyceum No. 5 of Vakhitovsky district of Kazan decided to organize the accounting of bicycles by means of laser marking. The idea of creating such database had come to the pupils during the technology lessons that take place in the Center for Youth Innovative Creativity “Idea” (CYIC). As told a curator of the project, CEO of the Laser Center of the Republic of Tatarstan (resident of Technopark “Idea”) Nikolai Nasonov, laser marking of various parts of a bike will be one of the measures of protection against theft. “Marking will allow quicker search of stolen bicycle and its parts. Data on the marked bike will be stored in a single registration database which will be made by the students themselves with the help of tutors”, - said Nikolai Nasonov.
The project consists of several stages. For beginning students organize the registration of bikes. Next, they will create the database. To bring the bike into the database it applied the contact details of the owner, is assigned a unique number, which will be stored in the database. The unique number of a bike will contain the following information: 116ХХХ. The first three digits indicate the region; the subsequent numbers are assigned automatically by the system of accounting base.
Note that only in Kazan 129 bicycle thefts have been reported since the beginning of the year. The amount of damage is about half a million rubles.
“We believe that the implementation of the youth project “Our Bicycles” will help protect bikes from theft because to steal a marked bike will be much less”, – said Nikolai Nasonov.
Marking of the first bikes will be held at 10:00 am on June 29, 2016 in the Center for Youth Innovative Creativity “Idea”. The event will be attended by students of the Lyceum No. 5 of Vakhitovsky district of Kazan and CEO of the Laser Center Nikolai Nasonov. We invite everyone to mark bicycles.
