The closing ceremony of the XIV Republican competition of leaders and heads of children’s and youth public associations “Leader of the Year-2016” was held on 28 April 2016 in the concert hall of “Grand Hotel Kazan”.

The event was attended by the Deputy of the State Duma of the sixth convocation, first Deputy Chairman of State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sport and Youth Affairs Marat Bariev, Deputy of the State Duma of the sixth convocation Ildar Gilmutdinov, head of the Department of Civil and Patriotic programs of the National Union of Patriotic Education Anna Karpukhina,  Children’s Rights Commissioner in RT Guzel Udachina, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Union of RT Journalists Rimma Ratnikova, Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs and Sport of RT Rustam Garifullin, CEO of CJSC “Innovative and production Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko and other guests.

The competition is a regional stage of the All-Russian competition of leaders and heads of children and youth public associations “Leader of XXI century”. Welcoming the participants, Rimma Ratnikova laid hoped that the leaders, who will be determined today, will hold leading positions in the federal competition. “In the hall there is such a powerful energy, it is immediately evident that the leaders are gathered. Tatarstan is perhaps one of the first stated that we need leaders, but not only with good education, good thoughts, and who know how to win and lead the people”, - said Rimma Atlasovna.

Members of the Expert Council (jury) of the Competition are representatives of state authorities, educational, scientific, methodological institutions, creative unions and centers of culture and science, representatives of public associations. Also, the jury included the winners of the Republican and All-Russian competition.

The competition was held in two stages:

• correspondence stage – from February 29 to March 27, 2016, it was attended by about 260 leaders and heads of municipal formations of the republic;
• on-site stage (the republican final) – from 24 to 28 April 2016, where were invited the applicants who have passed the correspondence stage.

The program of the competition final, in addition to competitive tests, included master classes, meetings with famous people and public figures of Tatarstan. The winners were awarded with diplomas of I, II, III degree and memorable gifts. In addition to the main awardees, the organizing committee noted the best in special nominations. CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko awarded the best in the nomination “Innovation leader”.
