A title of “Junior Academician” has been won today by schoolchildren from Nizhnekamsk city and Vysokogorsky region of Tatarstan

Today, 22 April 2016, a final round of the Republican contest “Tatarstan Erudite – 2016” has been held at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The contest is held for students of schools, gymnasiums, lyceums of the republic in two age categories (schoolchildren of the 7-9th grades and 10-11th grades) and consists of two rounds.

The first round (online testing) was attended by 883 Tatarstan schoolchildren. The participants responded to 60 questions on the main topics of the school curriculum (mathematics, Russian language, literature, history, chemistry, biology, etc.).

Today the final round was attended by the students with the highest number of points. Scientists and researchers of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan (Volga region) Federal University evaluated the work of students according to criteria such as the accuracy of the response, argumentativeness and culture of speech.

According to the results of the contest a student of the 9th class of school No. 35 of Nizhnekamsk city Andrey Kobelev was awarded the title of “Junior Academician” among the students of the 7-9th grades. The title of “Laureate” of the contest was received by Ulyana Mityunina (student of the 7th grade, Gymnasium No. 3, Zelenodolsk city, 2nd place), Angie Khametova (student of the 9th grade, secondary school of Akhmetyevo, 3rd place) and Danil Prygunov (school No. 139, Kazan city, 3rd place).

Among the participants of the 10-11th grades, the winners of the competition became two students – a student of the 10th grade of Lyceum No. 35 of Nizhnekamsk city Amir Gareev and a student of the 11th grade of school in the village Chepchugi of Vysokogorsky district Rushan Agliullin. Multiple participant and winner of last year Valentina Danilova (10th grade, school No.9 with advanced study of the English language, Kazan, 2nd place) once again showed good knowledge and became the winner of the contest. Bronze winners are also awarded the title of laureates of the contest: Amir Mennibaev (9th grade, IT-Lyceum of Kazan Federal University, Kazan, 3rd place) and Rizalya Yusupova (10th grade, Izminskaya school, Bogatye Saby).

Within the framework of the second round it has been held an intellectual competition Nano-IQ, organized by Technopark “Idea”. The nomination has being held since 2011 and should contribute to the growth of interest in nanotechnology, nanomaterials and nanosystems, and motivate students to deepen and broaden the knowledge about modern trends of development in the interdisciplinary field of fundamental and applied science and technology. The participants of the nomination passed written and oral round of selection. Andrey Kobelev became the winner of this nomination. The second place went to a student of IT Lyceum at Kazan Federal University Ruslan Sabirov, and the third – Arslan Ahmetjanov (10th grade, school No.39 of Kazan).

Note that the organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Academy of Sciences of RT, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University (KFU), Innovative Technopark “Idea” and Academic Lyceum named after N.I. Lobachevsky and JSC “ICL-KME CS”.
