Today a Regional Championship “Young professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) of the Republic of Tatarstan on the 56 competencies has started in the exhibition center “Kazan Fair”. 454 contestants, including about 100 participants from 17 regions of the Russian Federation, will compete in the championship. Their skills will be evaluated by 380 experts, including 73 experts from 17 subjects of the Russian Federation. All occupations are divided into 6 major units: construction, industry, IT, services, maintenance of civil transport, arts and design. Juniors and schoolchildren aged 10 to 17 years in 15 occupations will compete also in the period of the championship on the same site with the main competitors.
WorldSkills is an international non-profit movement, which aims to increase the prestige of working professions and the development of professional education.
Technopark “Idea” and its residents support WorldSkills for such topics as “Laser Technology”, “Catering Service”, “Mobile Robotics” and others. The heads of resident companies become experts in various fields of competencies. For example, the General Director of the Laser Center of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Nasonov will be a chief expert of the competence “Laser Technology”.
“The experience of Technopark and its residents, passed all the way from startup to large enterprises, is useful to us – the contestants of the event: we will be able not only to become professionals in our field, but also will learn how to build teams and to transfer our knowledge to peers”, - said participants.
“Today, the share of residents, providing engineering services, exceeds 55%, – said CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko. – Therefore we actively support this championship and we will assist in organizing the next one”.
The Regional Championship will conclude on April 9, 2016. As a result of the Regional Championship it will be formed team of the Republic of Tatarstan for participation in the semi-finals and finals of the National Championship “Young professionals” (WorldSkills Russia). The semi-final of the Championship of the Volga Federal District will take place from 13 to 16 April 2016 in Saransk (Mordovia) on 26 competencies. The Republic of Tatarstan will be represented in all of 26 competencies. The final will be held in the Moscow region from 23 to 27 May 2016.
We will remind that the World Championship WorldSkills Competition is held every two years. The closest championship 2017 will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In 2019 the World Championship will be hosted by Kazan. Especially for the event there will be built an exhibition center “Kazan WorldSkills Arena” with a total area of 269,000 square meters and a capacity of more than 45,000 people.
