Juntendo University - one of the oldest medical universities in Japan - has equipped its “Simulation and Technology Center” by equipment, made in Russia by the Kazan company “Eidos-Medicine”.
“The center is equipped with simulation equipment in endovascular, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operations. Now there is five of it, to the end of the year we plan to equip the center another seven such devices”, — quoted the head of the Department of Medicine, head of Department of Medical Research, Hajime Arai, RIA “Novosti”. According to him, the Russian equipment was chosen because “it is not only allows to train medical skills, but also because the development of its software and training is based on a common understanding of the importance of improving the quality of treatment and level of patient safety”.
Russian robots, simulating a patient, of the company “Eidos-Medicine” provide simulators for practicing preparation of a patient for anesthesia, surgical intervention, withdrawal from anesthesia and implementing post-operative resuscitation.
LLC “Eidos-Medicine” (also the resident of the Innovative Center “SKOLKOVO”) is the only Russian manufacturer of virtual medical simulators, it is among the five world leading developers of medical simulation equipment (Simbionix - the United States, Laerdal Medical AS — Norway, CAE Healthcare — Canada, Virtamed - Switzerland).
