The results of innovative activity, carried out by Tatarstan enterprises and organizations in 2013, was summed up.
According to the Territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service of Tatarstan in 2013, the proportion of industrial enterprises engaged in innovation activity was 21% (in 2012 this figure was 19.1%) and the proportion of organizations engaged in technological innovation - 18.7% (in 2012 - 16.9 %).
In comparison with other regions that make up the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR), Tatarstan ranked first according to these indicators.
In addition, in 2013, 127 organizations of the republic engaged in research and development, 10 organizations is more than in 2012. 1460 was filed patent applications for inventions, utility models and industrial designs and patents granted - 1289 units. According to these indicators Tatarstan also consistently ranks first among the regions of AIRR.
Effective innovation policy in the Republic of Tatarstan is realized, based on the established powerful innovation cluster in the priority sectors. It includes the work of technoparks, studios and laboratories at universities, business incubators, industrial sites and enterprises.
Innovative Technopark “Idea” takes an active part in the development of innovative potential of the republic. “Idea” is Russia's first technopark, which was opened on February 5, 2004 year. He also became the first Russian member of the European Network that confirms the compliance of its activities to the European standards.
Tatarstan won a series of federal programs and competitions with the participation of “Idea”: Federal business incubator and high-tech industrial park, in which created Technopolis “Himgrad” and IT-Park; Nanotechnology Center.
Today, Technopark “Idea” cooperates with the key development institutes of Russia: OJSC “Russian Venture Company”, OJSC “RUSNANO”, Fund “Skolkovo”, and the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology (FASIE). Kama Industrial Park “Master” and Technopark “Idea-Yugo-Vostok” were established respectively by Technopark together with the largest companies of OJSC “KAMAZ” and OJSC “Tatneft” in 2004.
Technopark “Idea” actively introduces the experience of the best global practices through performance assessment tools, used by the European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN), in technoparks of Russia. Becoming a full member of the European network in 2010, “Idea” for three years was the only Russian technopark accredited in EBN. In 2013, full members of EBN became Technopark of Novosibirsk Akademgorodok and Krasnoyarsk Regional Innovation and Technology Business Incubator (KRITBI) with the assistance of Technopark “Idea”.
“Idea” takes active part in the annual researches, conducted by EBN, and passes the annual certification, proving its effectiveness. This year Technopark for the fourth time has been accredited in the European network.
By the end of 2013 Technopark “Idea” entered the top 15 best European Business and Innovation Centers. Along with Tatarstan innovative platform in the top 15 also includes Atlanpole (France), Berytech (Lebanon), Gate Garching (Germany), Technoport (Luxembourg), Barcelona Activa (Spain), BIC Lazio (Italy), Ideon Innovation (Sweden), Hermia (Finland), Instituto Pedro Nunes (Portugal), University East London (United Kingdom), WESTBIC (Ireland), Innotek (Belgium), and South Moravia BIC (Czech Republic). In addition, innovative and business area of Taiwan is included in the Top 15.
We would remind you that the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, constituting the rating of innovative regions of Russia, was established in May, 2010 with a view to facilitating the effective innovative development of regions-participants. In addition to Tatarstan it includes 13 innovative regions of Russia.
