CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko has been included in the Board of Directors of the European Business & Innovation Centre Network. Voting of the current Board of Directors for his candidacy was held during 23rd EBN Annual Congress that was being held on 25-27 of June, 2014 in Spain. The meeting was chaired by the President of the EBN Board of Directors Alvaro Simon de Blas.
Technopark “Idea” thanks its Russian and European colleagues for their support and trust. Support letters in favor of Sergey Yushko were sent to EBN from the heads of Frankfurt Business and Innovation Centre, Centre for Business Development Ladec (Finland), WIRMA Lappeenranta, Krasnoyarsk Regional Innovation and Technology Business Incubator (KRITBI) and Technopark of Novosibirsk Academgorodok.
According to Sergey Yushko, there is an objective need to represent the interests of innovative infrastructure of Russia at the European and world stage with increasing the quantity and quality of BIC in the Russian Federation (3 full members and 2 associated).
The membership in the Board of Directors will permit to represent the interests of the country – EBN members which are not members of the European Union.
“The fact of the membership of Russian technoparks in EBN is a high rate of development of all Russian innovative infrastructure, its correspondence to the European quality standards and global best practices. Output of Russian innovative infrastructure on the better new level is occurring with the assistance of the leading development institutes of the Russian Federation, such as OJSC “RUSNANO”, the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR), JSC “Russian Venture Company” and others. Activities of Technopark “Idea”, Krasnoyarsk Regional Innovation and Technology Business Incubator (KRITBI), Technopark of Novosibirsk Academgorodok, High Technology Park of Khanty-Mansiysk are appreciated in the world, and it is important to keep up the pace”, - said Sergey Yushko.
According to Sergey Yushko, a striking example of Innovative Centre development was demonstrated by the Association for Science and Technology (JAST) on the example of the Chinese province of Jiangsu at the 23rd EBN Annual Congress. The Association specializes in the implementation of innovation in the economy and many other fields. JAST recently managed to create more than 40 international technology platforms to leverage resources in business incubators, science parks, industrial sites, which are in the province of Jiangsu.
“The example of the Chinese shows that the success of Russian technoparks is only the intermediate steps on the way to a strong position in the global level. We must go forward very intense pace, - said Sergey Yushko. - We will strive to do!”.

The European Business & Innovation Centre Network is a non-profit association, founded in Brussels in 1984 by the European Committee and the European Industrial leaders. Nowadays, it includes over 150 business and innovation centres from 30 countries of the world. In 2010, Technopark “Idea” became the first Russian Technopark that became a full member of EBN. In 2013, Krasnoyarsk Regional Business Incubator (KRITBI) and Technopark of Novosibirsk Academgorodok became full members of EBN with the assistance of Technopark “Idea”.
