Yesterday, the Company “Eidos”, a resident of Technopark “Idea” and IT-Park, presented a surgical simulator of Company “Eidos-Medicine” to the head of medical & mathematical laboratory of the Academician N. N. Burdenko Research Institute of Neurosurgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Mikhail Shifrin.
LLC “Eidos” – an innovative training simulators company, is one of the leading Russian developers of software and hardware in the virtual reality sector.
The Company, started its activity in 2010 with the production of auto-simulators, is currently engaged in the development of auto- and aero-simulators, simulators for emergency service, military equipment and marine navigation and also in mastering another trend – the development and production of medical simulators that allow to simulate the surgical operation to a high precision: it is possible to track the operative man simulator’s heart rate, breathing and heartbeat. The operation and the surgeon actions are displayed on a special high-definition screen. The number of medical errors can be reduced through the use of this simulator.
“Our Research Institute has similar developments in the human body modeling area. Our members have managed to create a three-dimensional atlas depicting a human anatomy, pathology and deformation of organs to a highly accuracy. However, what we see here - really impressive, because "Eidos" has been able to connect software with the simulator hardware unit. In the future we would be glad to cooperate with the developers’ team in the brain surgery modeling area”, - said Mikhail Shifrin after the presentation.
