An official awarding ceremony of the winners of the Program of innovative projects “Idea-1000” and the contest “50 best innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan” have been held today.
The Programme “Idea-1000” has been held in the Republic of Tatarstan by the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan jointly with the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology and Innovational production Technopark “Idea” since 2006.
This year, 275 applications have been filed for the Programme “Idea-1000”. According to the results of three stages of the Programme, the following have been selected: 30 winner projects in the category “Youth Innovation Projects”, 30 winner projects in the category “START-I”, including 8 winner projects in the category “Nanostart”, 3 projects of which have been filed by the Nanotechnology Center of the Republic of Tatarstan and 10 winner projects in the category “START-II”.
In 2012 the total funding of the winners amounts to 112 million rubles.
As of from 2006 to 2012 the total number of applications for the Contest “Idea-1000” was 1668. During the same period, 327 projects to the total amount of 467 million rubles were accepted for the funding by the Expert Council.
The competitive selection involves innovative projects presented in due order to the republican contest “50 best innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan”.
To the point, the Programme “Idea-1000” includes the following three categories:
“Youth Innovation Project” – up to 40 applications for the applied research are annually selected according to the competitive selection results. The category winners get the matched financing in the amount equal to 200 thousand rubles from the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and up to 200 thousand rubles from the Foundation for Assistance.
“START – I”- up to 15 applications for the research and development are annually selected. The category winners get the matched financing in the amount equal to 1 million rubles from the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and up 1 million rubles from the Foundation for Assistance.
“START – II”- the number of selected applications for the matched financing is not defined under the Programme, but established according to the results of the competitive selection and financial resources allocated to the Programme. Applications selected in the category “START-II” get the matched financing in the amount equal to 2 million rubles from the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and up 2 million rubles from the Foundation for Assistance. The category “START-II” – launching of the project commercialization stage. The “START-II” category winners have already put up to sale following the results of “START-I” implementation, as evidence of their initial commercial success.
In 2010, Technopark “Idea” initiated the implementation of forth category in the Programme “Idea-1000” – “Start in the Nanotechnology” (“Nanostart”). The category provides for financing up to 10 projects in the amount to 2 million rubles on an annual basis.
As is known, companies wishing to continue their participation in the Programme “Start” of the Foundation for Assistance, should involve co-investor for the project implementation on the 2nd and 3rd stages.
The Nanotechnology Center of the Republic of Tatarstan is ready to act as the co-investor of start-ups, which plan to participate in the programmes of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology.
In this regard, the Nanotechnology Center of the Republic of Tatarstan selects the projects wishing to participate in the Programmes “Start –II” and “Start –III”, with the aim of further co-investment.
