Russian Venture Company and Association of Innovative Regions of Russia jointly with other Development Institutes of the Russian Federation initiate the formation of Russia’s high-tech and high-developing companies rating – Russian innovative gazelle “TechUspech”.
The main objective of the rating — to identify and demonstrate the high-tech small and medium-sized Russian companies, that are part of the elite of Russian innovative business, to the general public, state authorities and large corporations of Russia. These companies are major suppliers of high-tech products to the domestic market and most often to overseas markets. The “Technological” segment of Russian middle class is being formed within the activity of these companies.
The rating is open to companies that meet the following criteria:
- the company established and developed in the modern history of Russia (not before 1987);
- the company business is developed on the basis of high-tech products development and commercialization;
- an annual turnover of own high-tech products is 100 million rubles and more;
- the company shows a stable positive trend of sales;
- the company sells its own high-tech products in many regions of Russia and, possibly, proceeds to expand to overseas markets.
TOP 100 companies shall be selected at the first competitive round. The purpose of the selection is not appraisal of the companies, or its rating according to a certain criteria using a special rating method of severe expert and formalized evaluation procedure. The rating is aimed to make these companies recognizable in the domestic and overseas markets, to make the Company’s brands and its management recognizable not only by market professionals and experts but also by ordinary citizens – consumers and clients, which ultimately will promote the attraction of investments and marketing development.
TOP-30 and TOP-10 companies – leaders of the rating – shall be selected in the second competitive round.
Such rating shall be held in Russia for the first time. It is a kind of a trial to learn more about innovative companies, to invite them to a national dialogue between the country leaders and its citizens, it’s an attempt to turn the conversation on the innovation point development into practice by creating the public selection and a continuous support of innovative companies on a mass (national) scale, with the involvement of the whole arsenal of political, economic and media support capabilities. The rating is also designed as a tool showing the level of Russian innovative business development and its scale. The task for the companies and their executives branding shall be solved in parallel.
The rating procedure is of a nation-wide initiative nature: any person and any organization, from regional leaders to ordinary citizen, using the Company’s products and services may declare the company to participate in the rating. The Company can be also offered by its manager and staff, as well sectorial and regional associations, chambers of commerce and industry, innovation infrastructure organizations and etc.
The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia is selected as the Rating Operator due to the fact that the activities of high-tech companies are actively developing in the region.
The Rating Advisory Council consists of successful innovative entrepreneurs, owners and managers of large innovative companies, investors, heads of media- and consulting companies, providing professional promotion and support for Russian innovative businesses and companies.
All companies-participants will be provided with a wide range of capabilities and tools for promotion. A special program within the Moscow International Innovation Development Forum “Open innovation” (Moscow, Expocentre, October 31st - November 03rd, 2012) will be organized and held for managers of TOP-10 companies. The list of TOP-30 companies will be released on the web site of Development Institutes and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia.
Participation in the rating is of declarative nature. Participation in the company’s rating require the following minimum information: the Company’s web site, the CEO full name and contacts (mobile phone, e-mail), copy of official balance sheet for the last three years or a form confirming the volume and dynamics of the company’s turnover, the Company’s CV (the history of the Company’s creation, the background of its development, main achievements, awards and other information, including at the applicant’s discretion).
The only condition for participation in the rating is meeting the aforesaid criteria and submission of the required information. Participation is on a free base.
