Today the Republican Lego-engineering competition entitled “We love LEGO” among schoolchildren has been held in Technopark “Idea”. The interactive program for the younger generation is focused on raising their interest in the high technologies.
More than 100 persons of robotics centers from Aznakaevo, Almetyevsk, Yelabuga, Zainsk, Zelenodolsk, Mamadysh, Nizhnekamsk, Pestretsy, Spassk and Chistopol municipal regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan are organized into 36 teams to take part in the competition devoted to International Children’s Day.
This is the second Republic-wide competition. In 2011, 24 teams in the number of 60 students took part in the tournament. This year the competition scale has increased almost twice.
The basic team consists of students of the 3rd – 6th grades. Several women’s teams, composing of one-third of women, have demonstrated that the hobby mostly pertaining to man is well within the women’s range.
As part of the competition the schoolchildren assembled, programmed and debugged their robot so that it was be able to defeat the enemy in sumo wrestling, tracked the path as fast as they could, and also carried out creative home assignment.

3) The team “Legobots 1” of Municipal Budgetary General Education Institution of Further Education “Children Activity Center” of RT Aznakaevo region.

3) The team “Electronic” of Municipal Budgetary General Education Institution of Further Education “Children’s Technical Activity Center” of Naberezhnye Chelny.

1) Participant of the team “Desyatka” of Municipal Budgetary General Education Institution of Further Education “Children and Youth Activity Center named by I.H. Sadykov” of Nizhnekamsk municipal region;
2) Participant of the team «WALL-E» of Municipal Budgetary General Education Institution of Further Education “Children Activity Center” of Zainsk region;
3) Participant of the team “PUPS” of Municipal Budgetary General Education Institution of Further Education “Children and Youth House” of Mamadysh municipal region.
Additional nominations: “The youngest competitor”, “The most touching robot” and “Most women’s team” were announced according to the results of the competitions as well. All the winners were awarded with modern high-tech prizes.

It should be recalled that Programming and Robotics Centre “Lego” has started its activity in Innovative Technopark “Idea” since February, 2009. Members of the Centre form a community of young people interested in science, high technologies; they may have access to information resources and services, have opportunity to participate in trainings, workshops, competitions, programs of employment and personnel reserve formation.
The program implemented by Technopark “Idea” in cooperation with its partners brings back the reputation of engineering profession in the eyes of youth, forms a wide range of skills and personnel qualities – teamwork skills, sense of responsibility and purpose.
Robotics Center Network in the field of Children’s Further Education across the Republic with an approximate coverage – 450-500 students is being created with the assistance of Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2011.
Today, the Youth Research Activity Centers are being created at the initiative of Executive Director of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia I.M. Bortnik with the support of RF Ministry of Economic Development, Federal Agency on Youth Affairs and other federal partners throughout Russia. These centers are focused on involvement of as many young people as possible in the research activity, providing them with the possibility for checking and commercializing their innovative ideas.
As part of this initiative, Technoaprk “Idea” in cooperation with RT Children Technical Activity Centers create a network of open youth centers forinnovative prototyping in the Republic of Tatarstan.
