On April 7, 2012, a meeting with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on issues of prospects of the RT Center of Nanotechnology on the basis of Technopark “Idea” and Technopolis “Himgrad” was held in Technopark “Idea”.
Before the meeting, the President of Tatarstan visited laboratories of the Center of Nanotechnology, localized in Technopark “Idea”, where analytical equipment and specialized furniture have already been supplied. It is expected that the Center of Nanotechnology will be fully equipped by August, 2012.
It should be reminded that the Center of Nanotechnology occupies two buildings at the site of Technopark:
Laboratory complex with total area of 2 267 sq.m. is situated in buildings No. 26-27.
Technology Center with total area of 1 993 sq.m. – in building No. 31.
In his report, General director of Technopark ”Idea” Sergey Yushko marked that currently the Center of Nanotechnology is being provided with a specialized experimental, diagnostic, metrological, scientific-technological and production equipment to the total amount of 477. 8 million rubles. The first pre-commissioning is scheduled to begin in late April of this year.
The equipment is purchased for the needs of industrial enterprises (JSC “Nizhnekamskshina”, JSC “KAMAZ-Metallurgy” and others), Kazan National Research Technology and Technical Universities, etc.
A separate building for the pharmaceutical unit of GLP standard with total area of 2 300 sq.m. is under construction on the territory of Technopolis “Himgrad” as part of the project of the RT Center of Nanotechnology.
The Company “Nanopharma Development” will be the first resident of laboratory and production module, which is created within the Investment Agreement between CJSC “IPT “Idea”, LLC “TTC” and LLC “Izvarino Pharma” signed on December 12, 2012.
The project is aimed at development of nanoscale systems of hormonal and cancer drugs delivery directly into the affected cells.
One of the priorities of the RT Center of Nanotechnology is the interaction between large companies, leading universities and research institutions of the Republic. Proposal on creation of the Interacademic Technology Center was made with a view of efficient use of Nanotechnology Equipment Park separately localized at sites of Kazan universities.
This project has already been discussed with the rectors of leading universities of Kazan at the meetings held by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil F. Muratov.
The project of the Interacademic Technology Center means the association of the equipment park in the sphere of advanced nanotechnology research and development at one site. This will facilitate the customer access to equipment and reduce the cost of rent and equipment maintenance.
RT President Rustam Minnikhanov supported the idea of creating such a public access center, however noted the need for detailed studying and discussion of the project with all parties involved.
“We need to study the existing and future capabilities of universities, what equipment has been already purchased and for what purposes it will be used”, - stated the Head of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov gave assignment to organize a working group comprised of representatives of higher educational institutions, Technopark “Idea” and JSC “Tatneftehiminvest-holding”.
Rustam Minnikhanov also suggested using the “Algarysh” program for training of specialists meant to use new equipment. “Laboratory is very important, but the person who can organize the work is also of great importance”, - said the Tatarstan President.
