By 2016 volume of industrial products can make 2 billion roubles in the Republic of Tatarstan. Such information was given by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov to the reporter of TV channel “Russia 24” Irina Rossius in the interview. In particular, he reminded that by results of 2010 volume of industrial products in the republic exceeded 1 bln. roubles.
Key industrial sectors in Tatarstan are mechanical engineering, oil production and petrochemistry. According to Rustam Minnikhanov the petrochemical sector should become a “growing point” for the republican economy. Putting the Complex of petrochemical and oil-refining plants into commercial operation in Nizhnekamsk will give impetus to further development of the industry.
“Currently the existing petrochemical plants are being modernized and we are going to increase quantity of output twice”, - President of Tatarstan said.
Rustam Minnikhanov also told about the development of mechanical engineering sector in the republic, strategic projects of JSC “KAMAZ” which is located in Tatarstan, plans of ‘Sollers” company and etc. in the interview to TV channel “Russia 24”.
In addition, attention was given to Special economic zone “Alabuga” (Elabuga region, the Republic of Tatarstan) which now has 16 residents and residency status for another three companies have already been approved, as well as the activity of Innovational production Technopark “Idea” and its residents.
