The Venture Fair traditionally involved young innovative companies interested in the attraction of direct private investment for the business development.
The official opening of the VI Kazan Venture Fair was attended by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Executive Director of the Russian Association of Direct and Venture Investment (RAVI) Albina Nikkonen and General director of the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Aynur Aideldinov.
The VI Kazan Venture Fair has combined the congress block (conferences, seminars, workshops) and exposition of 62 companies, passed through the expert selection, and ready to present their business to potential investors. In addition, the Fair involved the first National Festival of Science, where young talents presented their research.
The Working Group Meeting of the “Association of Innovative Regions of Russia” (“AIRR”) of the Fair was attended by Executive Director of Association Ivan Bortnik, President of the National Association of Business Angel Konstantin Fokin, Director of Energy Efficient Technology Cluster of the Fund “Skolkovo” Ilya Dubininskiy, Senior Advisor of General Director of JSC “RUSNANO” Michael Chuchkevich, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiahmetov and regional representatives of the Association.
The meeting has considered the following issues: the participation of the Association in the Siberian Venture Fair that will be held in Novosibirsk on June 9-10, 2011, as well as in the VII Kazan Venture Fair; signing of the Agreement between the AIRR and the Fund “Skolkovo” concerning the XIV Innovation Forum in the Tomsk, establishment of the Business Angel Communities in the regions of AIRR, development of the joint training programme of the Higher School of Economics and the Russian Academy of National Economy and State Service at the President of the Russian Federation on development of innovation infrastructure and etc.
The Working Group Meeting of the Association included the presentation session of the companies, which in need of investment and presented the AIRR participants-regions as well as companies that participated in the Fair exposition in order to expand their attendance in the AIRR regions.
The Meeting was resulted in signing of the Partnership Agreement between RAVI and AIRR as with the anchor site of AIRR in the European Russia on the development of institutes and practices of venture investment and the promotion of innovative companies in the Association.
