The second Kazan Startup Weekend will be held in Technopark “Idea” from May 20, 2011 till May 22, 2011. Startup Weekend is an event that allows authors of interesting ideas and projects in IT to pass the chain from idea to profitable IT-business in a short time. The Kazan Startup Weekend will be organized by the Youth Business Club «Navigator» and Innovative Technopark “Idea” jointly with Holding Company «Glavstart».
The Startup Weekend is traditionally held in three stages. Presentation of projects and ideas will be performed on Friday. The Speed Networking and individual advisory services of experts – on Saturday. Final presentations and signing of the agreements of intent with potential mentors will be carried out on Sunday. Based on the results of “Startup Weekend” work, the Company «Glavstart» will allocate about $10.000 to teams with the best projects to bring the idea to the prototype.
The first Startup Weekend was also held in Kazan, in Technopark “Idea” in November of last year. The result was that 13 projects were presented in the final and there were signed only 6 Agreements for further cooperation with mentors. Soon after Kazan Startup Weekend, the similar events were held in Saint-Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
