Delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov is on a two-day visit to Finland. The main purpose of trip is the promotion of trade and economic cooperation between Finland and Tatarstan.
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the Tatarstan delegation has arrived in Helsinki with resolutions to extend business cooperation. The visit should give a new impetus to the further development of relations between the Republic of Tatarstan and Finland, he said. According to him, the Tatarstan side is ready to support the relationship in all fields, including cooperation in the sphere of metallurgy, IT, forestry, energy-saving technologies and alternative energy as well. It is known that Finland has the highest rates in the alternative energy development.
The Program of visits, in addition to negotiations with President of Finland Tarja Halonen, has involved the meetings with Minister of Economic Development and Minister of Foreign Trade of Finland. The Tatarstan delegation took part in the workshop “Expomet” and in the meeting of Joint Working Group of Tatarstan and Finland, and also met with the heads of Finnish companies and organizations, representatives of Tatar Community in Finland.
Delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan on the second day of staying in Finland visited the Research Centre of Renewable Energy “Energon” in the city of Lahti and got acquainted with activities of “Pajakulma Oy” Company which is specialized in outfitting of heavy trucks.
The Research Centre of Renewable Energy “Energon” belongs to the Innovative Technology Centre of Lahti and is engaged in research activity in the sphere of energy efficiency and renewable energy. “Energon” was opened in 2010 for the promotion, implementation and usage of renewable energy (within the requirements of EU and Finland).
Properties and quality of biogas and bio-oil combustion, energy-efficient solutions of boilers and burners, operation of heat pumps and other equipment had been demonstrated to the representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan in the “Energon” Centre.
The Agreement between the LLC “Innovative Technological Park “Idea-South-East””, Innovative Technology Centre of Lahti and “Pajakulma Oy” Company (“Pajakulma”, Finland) concerning the Project of attached implements producing for “KAMAZ” trucks as well as training of Tatarstan specialists was signed on March 25,
The second Agreement was signed between Technology Park “Idea-South-East”, Innovative Technology Centre of Lahti (Finland) and Peilituote Ltd. Company (Finland) concerning the assembling of side-view mirror for “KAMAZ” vehicles in the Republic of Tatarstan. Both of the projects will be implemented within the “Clean-Tech” of ЕВN.
It should be noted that Agreements between Technology Park “Idea-South-East” and “Pajakulma Oy” and “Peilituote Ltd.” Companies were concluded under the Memorandum of Cooperation on the issuing of special-purpose machines designed for utility services through the outfitting of “KAMAZ” heavy trucks as per the Finnish technology. The Agreement was signed at Tatarstan and Finland Business Forum in Kazan on February 3, 2010
Memorandum of Understanding between Innovative Technology Park “Idea” and Innovative Technology Centre of Lahti regarding the Environmental, Energy Technology and associated Innovation Systems was also signed on January 20,
Innovative Technology Centre of Lahti and Innovative Technology Park “Idea” are accredited Business and Innovation Centers (BIC) – members of the European Business and Innovation Centers Network (ЕВN). The large-scale and long-term project “Gate2RuBIN” has a rapid growth within its framework – project of the participation of Russian business and innovation infrastructure organizations in new and the largest European Enterprise Network. Thus, Russian Companies have the opportunity to cooperate with the foreign business community within the Project “Gate2RuBIN”, which has a partner in the name of the Fund for the Promotion of the Development of Small Enterprises in Science and Technology in Russia.

The Company “Pajakulma Oy” (“Pajakulma”, Finland) was established in 1931. The Company is specialized in equipping of all types of heavy trucks with various specialty-equipment for special functions (garbage trucks, snow-removing vehicles, service cars and others). Also, the Company provides the dump trucks, oil fields service cars, road and electric mains service cars with additional equipment.
