XI Russian Venture Fair and X International Business Forum are holding in Rostov-on-Don on October 21-22, 2010. Organizers of the fair are the Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and the Department for Development of Small and Middle-size Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the Rostov region with the support of the Administration of Rostov. Representatives of Russian and foreign venture capital funds and private equity funds, leading top-managers of investment companies and banks, heads of large financial institutions, top officials of international corporations, professional participants of the international stock market are participating in the fair and forum.
On the first day of the forum was signed an agreement between the Administration of Rostov region and the Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. This agreement bears the signatures of the Governor of Rostov region Vasiliy Golubev and Executive director of the Association Albina Nikkonen.
“Under the agreement the Association will render assistance to the region in finding sources of financing innovative projects, in creating innovative companies and innovative infrastructure, to develop financing mechanisms of innovative projects and companies”, - explained Albina Nikkonen.
Within the bounds of the forum is being worked the II District Youth Convent which brought together young people from subjects of South Federal District and North-Caucasus Federal District with their innovative ideas and developments.
At the plenary session, where was discussed the principles of the doctrine of innovative development of Russia, Minister of Education and Science of RF Andrei Fursenko said: “It is not in our mentality all these conveyor production. We have always been rich in ideas. That should turn the country into the center of the development of innovative ideas and advanced technologies to great advantage for ourselves to sell abroad, and not on the cheap, as it is now, so even with the developers”.
At the opening of the XI Russian Venture Fair General director of RUSNANO Anatoly Chubais appealed to its participants with a video message. According to him Russia needs a radical change in the venture capital legislation. And the bills are ready for venture funds and funds of start’ups.
Within the framework of the XI Russian Venture Fair was held a symposium “National Nanotechnology Network as an important sector of the innovation development in Russia” where General director of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko made a report and presentation on the establishment of a center of nanoscale technologies on the basis of Technopark “Idea” and Technopolis “Himgrad” in Kazan.
On October 22, 2010 at the forum will operate the International Exchange of contacts and Exchange of subcontracts, there will be teaching round tables for young entrepreneurs.
