Khalil Akingy was appointed to this position not long ago and first city which he visited as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in Russian Federation became Kazan. Next city which Ambassador attends with official visit will be St. Petersburg.
During the stay of Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Turkey inRussian Federation issues about further development of Tatarstan-Turkish cooperation and also about expansion of contacts in the field of culture, education and tourism within the bounds of holding arrangements of Turkey Culture Year in Russia were discussed.
Ambassador met with Prime-minister of Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov, deputy Prime-minister of RT – Minister of culture Zilya Valeeva, counsellor of state under President of RT for international issues – director of Department of external relations Timur Akulov, Kazan major Ilsur Metshin.
During the visit Khalil Akingy said that relations between Russia and Turkey are on high level, relations between Turkey Republic and Tatarstan have very high level among regions of Russian Federation and it will further develop.
Ambassador emphasized that first Turkey consulate in Russia was opened inKazan. In due time Kazan tatars played a big role in Turkey Republic formation. From 19 century Tatarstan and Turkey nations had close cultural connection. In soviet period this relationships slightly cooled but didn’t die. Therefore it is natural that Ambassador made the first official visit in Kazan.
Within the bounds of stay in Kazan Ambassador also visited Innovative Technopark “Idea” where he acquainted with its activity.
