Teachers of the Kazan National Research Technological University competed in a verbal battle in the Technopark “Idea”.
The teachers presented research and development related to explosives. So, Alexander Belyakov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, spoke about the socio-cultural aspects of pyrotechnics. He introduced the audience - university students - to the role of fire in the development of mankind, and also spoke about its influence on the course of history. In particular, he noted that in the opinion of anthropologists, the use of fire influenced the formation of the modern human brain, and the fireplaces of tribal people reached several meters.
Evgeniy Petrov, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, spoke about the connection between explosives and pharmaceuticals. He explained that there are substances that can be both a drug and an explosive, for example, glycerin. At the same time, more explosives are produced in Russia, of which only 7-8% go to the military industry, and the rest - to the civil one. Evgeniy Petrov also spoke about the features of certain explosives.
Alexander Mokeev, Candidate of Technical Sciences, presented the features of oil production intensification, and Anatoliy Salnikov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, spoke about energy-saturated materials in pulsed metal processing.
As a result of the meeting, the listeners, students of the KNRTU (Kazan Chemical and Technological Institute), determined the best speaker by sms voting. According to the students, it was Alexander Mokeev.
“The fact is that before the performance I studied with a tutor, and yesterday I watched how the specialists in the field of polymer performed here. It helped me to completely redraw my report for the night”, - said he.
As the students themselves noted, the Science talks format allows not only to listen to lectures, but also to conduct a dialogue, the possibility of reflection. And we also really liked the fact that the speakers prepared in advance and provided information in an accessible form.
