Tatarstan took the second place in the National Rating of the Investment Climate of the regions, which was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 today. Last year Tatarstan was the third; previously three years in a row it headed the rating.
Moscow topped the list for the first time. The Tyumen region went down to the third place from the first. Next is the Kaluga region, closes the top five St. Petersburg. The top ten leaders also include the Tula region, the Moscow region, Belgorod, Leningrad and Ulyanovsk regions.
“We look at the leaders in each position and set ourselves a task so that we are not worse”, - said President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, commenting on the results of the rating.
The National Rating of the Investment Climate in the regions of the Russian Federation is compiled for the sixth time by business associations and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). If for the first time the compilers ranked 21 regions, then the last three years the rating covers all 85 subjects. Its goal is to assess the results of the efforts of all levels of government in the region to create an enabling environment for doing business.
The rating compilers expect to identify best practices in working with investors and create incentives for management teams in the regions. The study assesses four areas: “Regulatory Environment”, “Institutes for Business”, “Infrastructure and Resources” and “Support for Small Business”.
Note that the Technopark “Idea” is one of the first innovative objects in the country.
In 2018, 330 new jobs were created on the territory of the Technopark. The average salary in resident companies is 35% higher than the republican level and amounts to 45,500 rubles. A total of 95 companies (and this is 2,000 employees) produced goods and services for 9 billion rubles.
