“Oh, what young, and are doing these things”, “This was worth the fight”. This is how veterans of the Great Patriotic War, homefront workers, who worked at a Defense Plant “Sviyaga” at different times, expressed their impressions of communication with the residents of Technopark “Idea”.
Before the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War veterans and homefront workers visited Technopark “Idea”, on the territory of which the defense enterprise was previously based.
“Sviyaga” (now “Kazan Electrotechnical Plant”) was established on the basis of the evacuated in 1941 on the areas of the modern Technopark “Idea”. During the war years the plant employees worked here day and night: they produced a number of new sophisticated devices and schemes of marine automation, introduced new technological methods of production. After the war, the plant employees were engaged in the production of products required to restore the war-ravaged economy and the manufacture of various products, for example, portable lighthouse and electropolishing camera were made at the plant.
Today veterans and homefront workers, getting acquainted with the residents of Technopark “Idea”, have compared modern trends and developments, produced in the war and postwar period. “Here there was a laboratory, and here there was an antenna station”, “We are the same as they were when we came to the plant. We were 18-20 years old”,” We did not even dream about it, we worked on unplanned workbenches”. - said veterans.
CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko told about how Technopark was built in the 2000s years, how the first residents were attracted.
Residents of Technopark “Idea” – company “Technomir”, “Eidos-Medicine” and “Sovcombank” held a short excursion for the veterans. Veterans became not just listeners, but actively asked questions, studied the technology of work and identified the peculiarities of each company. Guests were touched by the hospitality of the staff. The collective of the company “Technomir” read poems to the veterans about the war and victory, expressed gratitude for the feat of the fathers and grandfathers.
“It’s hard to even imagine that this could be”, “How many times I have passed by, I wanted to come, but it was awkward. And now I know that here there are worthy youth”, - said veterans in response. “We had such huge machines here, and now young people are sitting in clean, beautiful clothes in chairs behind computers”, - admired veterans in the premises of “Sovcombank”.
The visit of the veterans ended with a cozy tea-drinking, where each of them recalled the past years and shared their impressions. Special memories of the guests were connected with the small administrative building of Technopark. It turns out that in those days there was a factory club in the premises of the building, where workers came to dance and other collective events.
“When the plant was moved to a new site, many did not believe in his second life and retired. There were a few who remained in the ranks and revived the plant in the new territory”, - said the Chairman of the Council of veterans of the plant. “But we also transported our traditions to the new location. Every day we all stand on the morning exercises. Moreover, the district adjoining to the plant hears us, so we are promoting the healthy lifestyle to the inhabitants of the neighborhood”, - joked veterans.
