“The main purpose of the meeting with talented young people is to open all doors for them where they can get support for the development of ideas. And if the children will have questions how to enter this door, and what is behind it, then we stand next, the bodies responsible for the availability and transparency of the mechanisms of support of talented youth. We are kind of guides for talented guys who are aiming to commercialize their ideas”, - said CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko.
The meeting was attended by about 20 children – winners of All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren in various areas. They have already got experience with science. Now they have a desire to build a business with a large scientific component. Where to start and what to pay attention to? What tools are established in the republic and not only to support the endeavors of talented youth? These topics were priority.
The meeting began with a teleconference with Moscow, with the founder of the Foundation for Assistance of Innovation, now an Advisor to the General Director of the Foundation Ivan Bortnik. He told the children about the existing innovative lift of Russia, in which each entity is responsible for its own level of development and the scale of the project.
The Foundation for Assistance of Innovation is the first, the starting point of the elevator. It performs the function of the seed to nurture young, talented guys - the carriers of new knowledge, aimed at creating a new product. Then the baton is taken of the Russian Venture Company, followed by Rusnano and then completes the chain of Development Institutions Vnesheconombank.
Mr. Bortnik explained in detail to the guys the conditions of participation in the program UMNIK, outlined the amount of grants that young people can bring to the implementation of their projects.
Ivan Bortnik also announced the creation of a new program UMNIK-Sirius to support young innovators – the recipients of grants from the President of the Russian Federation, their further stimulating to the development of their projects. The program will be implemented jointly with the Foundation “Talent and Success”.
At the end of the teleconference Ivan Bortnik proposed to conduct online testing one of the projects, which the participants of the meeting are engaged in. After listening to the idea of using zeolite in ceramic products, Mr. Bortnik made his remarks and recommendations on further work on the project and its potential opportunities.
As the official representative of the Foundation for Assistance of Innovation in the Republic of Tatarstan the meeting was continued by CEO of Technopark Sergey Yushko. He told about the possible options for the realization of business ideas of students on the territory of Technopark, and also explained in detail each stage of preparation and participation in the programs of the Foundation.
Intercollegiate School of Innovative Start-up was established on the basis of Kazan Federal University in order to maximize the effective preparation of children for participation in the programs of the Foundation. A representative of the School told the meeting participants about the opportunities that are opening up for them in the future, as well as issues and risks that are automatically withdrawn within the school.

Intercollegiate School of Innovative Start-up is the interuniversity project for preparation to the program “START” of the Foundation for Assistance of Innovation.
The aim of the program “START” is the assistance to innovators seeking to develop and master the production of new goods, products, technologies or services using the results of their scientific and technological research, which are in the initial stage of development and have a great potential of commercialization. The competition winners will receive a grant in the amount of 2 million rubles for the development of their innovative ideas.
The participants of the School can be students, postgraduates, teachers and researchers of the universities of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In the course of free-of-charge training in the School, students receive professional skills in the field of patenting of intellectual property, marketing analysis, development of technical specifications for R & D, business planning, enterprise management, sales management, project presentation, and learn about the ways of financing projects through competitions and grants. The result of the training is a qualitatively prepared application for the contest “START”.
